Hack/Slash Reading Order, a comic book series by Tim Seeley

  • by

First things first, an introduction. Hack/Slash is a horror/action comic book created by writer and sometimes penciler Tim Seeley (Nightwing, Revival) and published by Image Comics.

At the end of every horror movie, one girl always survives… in Hack/Slash, Cassie Hack not only survives, but she also turns the tables by hunting and destroying the horrible slashers that would do harm to the innocent! Alongside the gentle giant known as Vlad, the two cut a bloody path through those who deserve to be put down… hard!

There are multiple volumes of Hack/Slash, crossovers, and editions. Everything began in 2004 with one-shots and the first ongoing series started in 2007 at Devil’s Due Publishing before going to Image Comics.

V. Hack/Slash Volume 4: Resurrection

Hack/Slash is back, but it’s not written by Tim Seeley anymore, it’s Tini Howard. Cassie Hack has been living off the grid, but when a new monstrous threat arises to torment the kids at Camp Indigo River, it’s time for Cassie to pick up the baseball bat once again!

VI. Other Hack/Slash crossovers

  • Hack/Slash/Eva: Monster’s Ball
Published by Dynamite Comics, this 4-part mini-series written by Brandon Jerwa brings Eva, a time-lost warrior who believes that God wants her to rid our world of the foul things that lurk in the shadows, and Cassie Hack together. • Army of Darkness Vs. Hack/Slash
Another Dynamite Comics crossover and, as the title suggests, it’s a six-part crossover featuring Ash Williams of the Evil Dead series.

  • Hack/Slash vs. Vampirella
Another Dynamite Comics crossover written by Tim Seeley. This one teamed up Cassie and Vlad with Vampirella in order to stop the Blood Queen.
  • Hack/Slash vs. Chaos
Another Dynamite Comics crossover written by Tim Seeley. Cassie and Vlad are going to have to team up with megadeath dispenser Evil Ernie to stop the slaughter, putting them on a path that appears to lead through Chastity, the Chosen, and Purgatori!

VII. Hack/Slash: Back to School by Zoe Thorogood

Slasher hunter Cassie Hack is back in a new miniseries, this time by the writer/artist of It’s Lonely at the Center of the Earth, Zoe Thorogood, with Tim Seeley serving as the editor.
